Homemade Christmas gifts

I did a few different projects this week for friends/coworkers for Christmas.  Here are the pics of them.  Enjoy!

Coasters I made with tissue paper!

Found an old frame from thrift store and painted, put pulls on the ends and painted the glass with chalkboard paint.  I'm addicted to chalkboard paint!!!!

YUM! Found recipe on pinterest.  It's small pretzels, rolos (I bought the mini ones so you don't have to peel all the foil off.  Put in oven at 350 degrees for 4 minutes.  You can put m&ms on top!  :)

I also made homemade lip gloss!  I found that recipe as well on Pinterest.  Beeswax, coconut oil and peppermint essential oil!  Easy and fun to make!

I'm back!

So 3 months later and I'm back to crafting.  I was super busy with teaching during the day and going to night school for my pre-reqs in nursing.  Good news....I got in to the accelerated nursing program here so I'm excited about that!  So I will be crafting the night away until June!  :)  Here are a couple things I did this weekend for Christmas.  I will be making Christmas gifts throughout the week so I will put some pics up next weekend.
Enjoy your week!  See you soon!
I used some tissue paper I bought a couple years ago and mod podged them onto Home Depot tiles then sprayed with protective enamel.

glued dollar tree candle holders and bowl/plate onto them.  Then spray painted (the plastic Krylon spray paint is really good and quick drying)

Made some Christmas cards for friends and family.  :)

Canvas pictures

I made a couple canvas pictures for my good friend who now lives in Germany with her hubby and two kids.  It was simple and didn't take much time.  I looked up lots of ideas and found that printing a picture off my printer with tissue paper was the easiest since I already did that making coasters for Christmas.  I mod podged the canvas first, then laid the tissue paper over it, cut the edging off and mod podged it again when the undercoat was dry.  I then painted the edging with acrylic paint to roughen the look up a bit and then mod podged it again.  The tissue paper gave it a textured look!  You can do colored or black/white.  Hope you enjoy!

Summer Wreath

I made this last week while watching some Breaking Bad episodes.  All I did was wrap an old wreath I got at the thrift store with scrap fabric then wrapped it with yarn.   Then I hot glued some felt fabric to make the flowers.

Quick dress

I had time yesterday during my busy summer to make a dress...and quickly!  I had some extra material I bought a year ago for a pillow I think.  All I did was sew the width ends together and then add elastic to the top.  Add a belt and there you go!  Pretty easy!!!  I have a bed sheet I bought from the thrift store that I will turn into a longer dress so look for that soon.   Until then enjoy your summer!

painted glass

No I'm not dead....just very busy!  I am back for now since I am done teaching full time.  I am still taking pre-reqs this summer for nursing school so I'm pretty busy with that.  I did however have a couple days to lay in bed and look through pinterest!  I haven't been on that site for some time now!  I found some cool things I wanted to share with you.  First I am going to make my dear friend that now lives in Germany a couple baby decor gifts for her new baby girl!  Once I'm done with those I will add some pics.  Today I decided to get into painting glass!  It was so much fun and so easy!  I got the idea at sandandsisal.com.  She made them waterproof which I wanted for 3 of my old wine bottles I saved.  Here are the pics of the results.  (sorry I didn't have a before and after but I'm sure you know what empty wine bottles look like!).

The green one is the painted one I did.  The orange vase I got at a cool little shop in the Northpark Mall in OKC.

Next I made some flowers for my friend and her baby girl.  Here are the pics on those!
The green, yellow and pink were made from tshirts.  I got the idea from matsutakeblog.  The felt flowers idea I got from makeit-loveit
Random pic of our dog Buddy.  I'm going to put this on canvas so I will show you later how it turned out!

My husband took this in the back yard at his mom and dads.  The one in the middle is a bunny butt!  :)

This will be on canvas too.  Just wanted to remember 4 years ago!  :)

That's it for today.  I will have the pics when I'm done with the double frames and canvas pictures I plan to do this week.  Bye for now!

Spring Break Break

I finally had a couple days to do some crafty stuff and finish the flooring in the master bedroom.  It only took 9 months!  :)
Here are some really bad pics on some random things I made and did.  Happy spring!!!
D
This used to be carpet so I bought some laminate at Home Depot and redid the bathroom with only $25.

Pictures don't do this hard work justice.  It turned out really good!  I love hard wood floors and this one needed some definite TLC and hard work!  9 months later and it's done...well almost.  Now I have to put quarter round around!  :)

Painted pillow using fabric paint but the orange turned out super bright.

Spray painted pillow using painters tape as the pattern

Made these little bird houses.  Got the idea from the speckled dog.  Mine need to be changed on the front...think I will repaint.

Blurry pic but just random anyway.  Cut out some scrap material and framed it for spring.

'I pitty the fool' onesie

I was searching like I do most nights on Pinterest and came across a onesie that they sewed in the shape of Mr. T. with felt on the site: toolsandtoys.net.  I loved watching him when I was growing up so what better thing to do than spread the love and make a couple for some friends and family.  The bottom onesie I forgot to add water to the iron so it bled to the white fabric.  Oops!  So make sure if you use a dark felt to have your iron on steam...it helps a bunch!  Live and learn!

End Table

So my hubby and I were thrifting one weekend (I know he actually went with me and kinda got into it!)  We found an end table for the Colorado room as we call it.  I wish I took a picture of the before I painted it!  Duh!  The wood stain was worn out and the hardware were a beautiful brass.  So needless to say it needed some TLC.  Well a couple hours later and wallah!   I painted the hardware with black spray paint.  The paint dried and I sanded the corners and edges to antique it a little.  Turned out really cute in the room.  :)

onesies, flower pins and scarf

Here are a couple crafts I made over the weekend for some friends and family.  Enjoy!
The little legs are ribbon knotted on the bottom

horrible picture but you kind of get the idea.  I bought pom pom yarn from Michaels and crocheted the scarf
I used felt and fabric to make these different flower pins
