Lots of Homemade Christmas Decor!

So I go busy last week and made several things that were cheap, cheap, cheap.  Most of my materials I got at the Dollar Store, Thrift Stores or Hobby Lobby.  Here they are!

I am in the process of making my family Christmas gifts so when they open them for Christmas then I will post them.  :)  I know they like to look on this blog once in a while!

candle sticks at thrift store I painted white then glued on 3 bowls from Dollar Store

spray painted pine cones found in my neighborhood

the green and red placemats and plate found at Target...cheap too!

found this in the kitchen area of one of the stores.  It's a placemat that I just glued on a white pillow!

added some blue to the wreath I already had and also a cute little edition!

painted a frame I got at thrift store and put wrapping paper and ornaments made out of cardstock and glitter

made the glitter trees with styrofoam cones at Dollar Store

used my fall hurricane lamps and put cranberries I found at Dollar Store in between candles and hurricane lamps.

Made a poinsetta on a old pillow I had with felt and hot glue

wood flooring

I found out our rent house has wood flooring underneath the carpet!  I was so excited I took the carpet up this weekend to see what it looked like.  Ok a little overwhelming but I was excited to see all the wood was there!  Yes that's paint...and lots of it!  I ended up using TSP to get the paint off and did some sanding...good to go!  I started with a Minwax walnut stain but it was too light to cover up all the imperfections of the wood so I darkened it with Minwax Bombay mahogany.  It's turning out nice!  I will take a picture when it's all done!

The really light area is wood putty I put on a section that had dry wall paste on it.  The putty soaked in the stain really well!

fall decor

Here are a couple pics of the fall decor I put out in the front.  The wreath was just wrapped with brown material and then I glued felt flowers.  Bought a cute table for $10 at a garage sale too!  Happy fall ya'll!!

Wheat Pillow

I saw a blog where they spray painted a pillow cover  V and Co. so I decided to try it.  Now I'm addicted to freezer paper!  Yikes!  It came out really well and so I'm going to try to do some different lamp shades.  Happy Fall (in a month)!!!

Chevron Pillow and Fall Decor

So I had some time today in between studying for my first 2 exams and thought I would do some craftiness for fall.  It was 70 degrees this morning!!!  It felt like heaven!  Hopefully it will last for a while!

NO sew pillow cover.  Just used Heat n Bond and a ridiculous jersey shirt my hubby had for the chevron pattern

Not good lighting but you get the idea

Frame from thrift store that I painted green and pumpkins are from the Dollar Tree.

I painted an old frame and put dried corn, lentils and split peas in the glass bowls.

Lederhosen, Key Chain and Dog Collar

It's almost been a month since my last blog.  I have been making some things, just not taking any pictures!
I have a really good friend that is moving to Germany so I wanted to make something for her little boy.  I found a picture of a Lederhosen onesie online and I had to make one!!!
My friend loses her keys a lot in her huge luggage bag purse and so I thought I would make a fabric key chain so it's easier to find them.  Then I made a cute little dog collar for her cute doggie!
Email me at debsuescreations@gmail.com if you are interested in any of these.  God bless!!!

lamps, bulletin board and necklace organizer

So here are some random things I did the last couple days.  I had an old bulletin board that I glued fabric on and ribbon around it.

Then I contemplated making new lamps but decided we needed to save money so I took our Ikea paper lamps and put shear fabric on them.  They look great and give it a pop of color!

Then I made something to hold all of my necklaces!  So I bought a couple wood plaques I got at Hobby Lobby for $2 each and glued some cork board on it and covered with fabric.  Then I screwed in some hooks and voila!
